Arthur Quinn and the World Serpent By Alan Early

It's about a boy called Arthur Quinn. He moves from Kerry to Dublin because his dad is offerrd a job of building the Metro. He makes 3 new friends called Ash,Max and will. They go on a school tour to the Metro site. Then Will gets into a river under the River Liffey called the Poddle. They see ancient Runes written on the wall. Then Will (who is the Viking god Loki) attacks Arthurs dad. Then Will(Loki)says a monster called a Jormungand can destroy the World. Then Will(Loki) lets the Jormungand lose and kidnappes Max with him. It wrecks havoc on dublin. But does Arthur stop it?.


I loved this book because it's set in Dublin and it has lots of action.

I'd give this book 10 out of 10

Fantastic Mr. Fox By Roald Dahl

It's about a fox called Mr. Fox who has three little foxes and a wife fox. However every night Mr. Fox stole a chicken from the local farm. One day the three farmers decide to join forces and try and kill the fox. But the foxes are to clever. They have to try and find food in a borrow or thell starve and meet a few more characters such as badgers. In the end the foxes get away and start a new life some were else

I thought the book was absoultley TERRIBLE ;-(

The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me By Roald Dahl

It's about a boy who sees an old rusty shop on the end of his road. He asks his mum what it used to be. His mum said it used to be a old sweet shop. Billy the young boy says he'd like to set it up as a sweet shop again but when he goes down there's a giraffe in one window a monkey in another and a pelly in another one. Billy asks why they are there and they say there window cleaners. And then one day a car goes by and a man gets out and says would you like to clean the dukes windows. So they did but when the giraffe was cleaning one of the windows he notices a robber in one of the bedroom stealing loads of jewellery so the pelly takes the robber in it's massive beak and fly down but the havoc broke out cause the robber was being bounced around in the pellys beak. Then the police come and take the robber away. Then the duke says what do you want if you could have one thing Billy. Billy says a sweet shop and so they did and it turned out to be the best sweet shop in the world

I thought this book was OK Cause it was a bit slow better for 8 year olds

I was on TV!

The Phamtom Toolboth By Norton Juister

The phantom tollbooth is about a really bored boy called Milo and all he does is go to school and come home from school every day. Until one day when he comes home from school he sees a package in his house and a letter beside the package saying to Milo hope you enjoy. Then Milo opens the package to see a tollbooth. But what he doesn't know is that it's magic. So he walks through the tollboth. Thinking sure i've nothing else to do. Why not? But when he goes through this tollboth he finds himself in a magical land where he meets a dog called Tok the Watchdog and many others. He buys words in a word market and he buys numbers in a digit market. He also saves a princess from the prison above the clouds.

I thought it was the worst book ever. NEVER READ IT. IT'S REALLY BORING AND THE STORYLINE IS TERRIBLE

A Christmas Carol By Charles Dickens

It's about a mean man called Ebenezer Scrooge. Who hates christmas. One day when he was coming home he saw his deceased partners ghost Jacob Marley. Who tells Scrooge that spirits will come and haunt you. The first spirit called the ghost of Christmas past. Who brings him back to his childhood to show him how lonely and sad he was when he was a child.

The second spirit the ghost of Christmas present. MY FAVOURITE!!!!. Is a big giant that brings him to his clerks house who can barely spend Christmas nicely because Scrooge only paid him 15 pounds a week.

Then the third spirit is the ghost of Christmas future.This is the scareist one because he's dressed in all black and he brings Scrooge to a grave and it said on the gravestone Ebenezer Scrooge. And then he wkes up on Christmas morning in his house and run out on to the street asks a boy to get the biggest turkey in the butchers and give it to him. And then Scrooge brought the massive turkey to his clerks house and gives it to him and for many Christmases after that Srooge and his clerk spent Christmas together

And I would like to mention that the Illustrations are AMAZING by P.J.Lynch

I really liked this book but there are a few hard words. I would recommend this book for girls and boys 9+ and I would score this book 9 out of 10!
