The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me By Roald Dahl

It's about a boy who sees an old rusty shop on the end of his road. He asks his mum what it used to be. His mum said it used to be a old sweet shop. Billy the young boy says he'd like to set it up as a sweet shop again but when he goes down there's a giraffe in one window a monkey in another and a pelly in another one. Billy asks why they are there and they say there window cleaners. And then one day a car goes by and a man gets out and says would you like to clean the dukes windows. So they did but when the giraffe was cleaning one of the windows he notices a robber in one of the bedroom stealing loads of jewellery so the pelly takes the robber in it's massive beak and fly down but the havoc broke out cause the robber was being bounced around in the pellys beak. Then the police come and take the robber away. Then the duke says what do you want if you could have one thing Billy. Billy says a sweet shop and so they did and it turned out to be the best sweet shop in the world

I thought this book was OK Cause it was a bit slow better for 8 year olds

I was on TV!

The Phamtom Toolboth By Norton Juister

The phantom tollbooth is about a really bored boy called Milo and all he does is go to school and come home from school every day. Until one day when he comes home from school he sees a package in his house and a letter beside the package saying to Milo hope you enjoy. Then Milo opens the package to see a tollbooth. But what he doesn't know is that it's magic. So he walks through the tollboth. Thinking sure i've nothing else to do. Why not? But when he goes through this tollboth he finds himself in a magical land where he meets a dog called Tok the Watchdog and many others. He buys words in a word market and he buys numbers in a digit market. He also saves a princess from the prison above the clouds.

I thought it was the worst book ever. NEVER READ IT. IT'S REALLY BORING AND THE STORYLINE IS TERRIBLE

A Christmas Carol By Charles Dickens

It's about a mean man called Ebenezer Scrooge. Who hates christmas. One day when he was coming home he saw his deceased partners ghost Jacob Marley. Who tells Scrooge that spirits will come and haunt you. The first spirit called the ghost of Christmas past. Who brings him back to his childhood to show him how lonely and sad he was when he was a child.

The second spirit the ghost of Christmas present. MY FAVOURITE!!!!. Is a big giant that brings him to his clerks house who can barely spend Christmas nicely because Scrooge only paid him 15 pounds a week.

Then the third spirit is the ghost of Christmas future.This is the scareist one because he's dressed in all black and he brings Scrooge to a grave and it said on the gravestone Ebenezer Scrooge. And then he wkes up on Christmas morning in his house and run out on to the street asks a boy to get the biggest turkey in the butchers and give it to him. And then Scrooge brought the massive turkey to his clerks house and gives it to him and for many Christmases after that Srooge and his clerk spent Christmas together

And I would like to mention that the Illustrations are AMAZING by P.J.Lynch

I really liked this book but there are a few hard words. I would recommend this book for girls and boys 9+ and I would score this book 9 out of 10!

The ghost of Able Mable By Penny Dolan

It's about a woman who is an evil pirate, she has a sister that owned an Inn (hotel). And then one day that sister came to the Inn and from the moment she got in, till the moment she died she ruled the Inn. But there was a man in there that owned a safe of money that he earned. The pirate kept the lock. Then she died and the man moved into a small cottage down the road. One day he had a son who grew up and then snuck up to the Inn and robbed the safe. The ghost of Able Mable followed him up to the house and then out of nowhere she disappeared. The granddad said his thanks for his son because he got the safe.

I THOUGHT IT WAS A OKAY BOOK. 50-50.

Cirque de freak By Darren Shan

IT'S AMAZING (THE BEST)

It' about a boy called Darren Shan and his friend Steve Leonard better known as Steve Leopard in his school. Then one day Steve brought in a poster with the words CIRQUE DE FREAK in big writing. It was a big poster for a circus. Then one Friday they both snuck down to the circus. At first they thought it was scary then when they got in the first act was wolfman. But then one act Steve reconised as a vampire from one of his old comics. Then after the show he stays behind to talk to him then when he meets him he convinces him to turn him into a vampire. Then the vampire tests his blood but says he's evil and has bad blood. Then Steve says he will get revenge on him. Then darren steals his spider and then the spider bites Steve and nearly kills him. Then one night the vampire mr.crepsley steals back madam octa the spider. And he's the only one who can cure Steve so that night darren went to the vampire the only way I cure Steve is if you become my apprentice so that's what happend and then i can't tell you anymore it would ruin him

Shampoozel by Laurence Anholt & Arthur Robins

IT'S THE WORST BOOK EVER

It's about a hairdresser that sneaks into an evil witches garden to find magic seeds to make a shampoo. But once he was caught the witch said when he and his wife had a baby she would take it. So after a few years he had a baby so the witch took it but the girls hair was so long that the witch would climb up her hair in to her tower. After a while the witch died of old age so she got away.

I hated this book because it's so boring. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone it's really bad.

Little red riding wolf by Laurence Anholt & Arthur Robins

This is not a great book. It is another book in the great Seriously Silly Collection. It is a bit of a brain freezer in parts, what I mean is it's a little confusing. It's about a big bad girl whose dad is a milliner [person who makes hats] and the dad doesn't earn any money so that's why the girl robs a poor little wolfs food on the way to his granny wolf. In the end she dies of obesity from eating all the food. I would definitely think it's to babyish for my age so I would recommend this book to [4-8] years.

Cinderboy

It's a fantastic book but it's not a choice for an adult .It's one of the many fantastic seriously silly books collection.It's about a little boy who has dreams for playing with the local football club but his mean brothers and and his dad use him as a slave then the evil brothers and dad go to a cup final he really wanted to go to but he had to stay at home cleaning up. He sneakly watched the match and at half time a girl came on a TV ad and took his dreams to the next level. Great book. blog by the book basher dylbot

Vampirates

I thought it's
REALLY BAD

It's about a brother and sister who are who are split in a boat crash. And one go's on a pirate ship and the other on the vampire ship. And a robbery occurs on the pirate ship and the captain nearly dies but his pet snake saves the day with the brother and destroys the robbers. THE sister finds out that she's accompanied by vampires in the end they are together


I thought it was so bad because it's really slow

Book Review 1. The Spooks Apprentice by Joseph Delaney

I've just finished my first book of The Spooks series. It is called The Spooks Apprentice by Joseph Delaney. It is an amazing book.

It's about a boy called Tom. He's a seventh son of a seventh son and because of this he is recommended to a local Spook by his Dad. A Spook is a man with special powers to fight the dark to protect the world. He goes off with the Spook to train and fights to save the local villages from evil witches.

I liked this book because there is action flying out of the page for most of it and it was exciting. However some parts were a little bit slow and boring. Mainly I thought it was really good.

I recommend this book to people that are confident readers and like action and adventure.
